We leave Mt Agustus station to return to Carnarvon to restock on supply and move on to Ningaloo station. We're told Quoba is full and that the Gnarloo road is still closed. We were also told that Carnarvon is only good worth a supply stop and move on.... we get it now.
Ningaloo station is right on Ningaloo Reef just north of Coral Bay - a very rough track and totally self-sufficicent camping is perfect for us. Winds are gusting to 60km/h so very uncomfortable but a spectacular place all the same.

3 June - Mt Augustus NP
Rain has topped but a lot of tracks are still closed. Carnarvon is busy with a long weekend of racing so we decide to continue west to Mt Augustus, the largest free-standing rock in the world (??? really??).
700m vertical climb to the top but well worth the effort.

31 May - Kennedy Range NP
Looks like rain closed off most of the western roads, including the road north of Quoba Station. So we decided to head East to Kennedy Range NP park to the Tempe Gorge area. Bush camping at its almost best (NP - restricted campfires etc.) and a spectacular scenery.

20 May 2011 - Steep Point
Holiday off to a good start. Camping at Steep point for 4 days with our good friends Peter and Lyn Cottee. Great camping, fishing, beaches, blow holes, Mantas (couldn't eat a whole one though), 4WD... beautiful place.
